Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American as well as a Canadian musician and singer. Her albums span over 20 years. Her music is classified as folk and alternative rock but also has influences from punk funk hiphop and jazz. She is widely considered to be a feminist icon. Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement, and was among the first artists to create her own record label in the year 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco whom she had made acquaintance while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is Italian heritage, and her mother was born in Montreal. Ani diFranco composed and performed the song 32 Flavors. The track comes from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's sixth album for her studio. A variation of the song is featured on the movie soundtrack to the 1999 Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apology was made in the year 2013 when it became known she was hosting the three-day event on one of the Louisiana former plantation for slaves. The workshop was cancelled, but several (including this piece) didn't detect remorse. DiFranco apologized for her mistake two days after her first apology. While she's been referred to for her role as the Little Folksinger her music spans many genres and collaborators ranging from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. She resides in New Orleans. DiFranco was enrolled in classes in Buffalo State College at age 16, after she graduated from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's baritone is a customized Alvarez guitar that was made after several meetings with Chrys, an Alvarez representative for artists during the time. The instrument is constructed from solid woods. This includes a top made of cedar, with mahogany sides and back. It also has The System 600 Preamp. The model is located with her family in New Orleans where she lives with her husband, two children and sidekick Lefty their long-legged dog who moves around the frame when we're talking. A decade into her career DiFranco admits she has different feelings when looking into the rearview. Ani DiFranco, a music producer and writer who was just 25 when she released her 7th album Not A Pretty Girl and had even greater success with the world of public opinion by releasing Dilate. The pop-rock hit song from 1972, Brandy (You're a fine girl) was written by the American band Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass.
